Don't miss out on your chance to nominate a young person for sports award


Nominations for the Chichester District Youth Sport Achievement Awards are now open. If you know of a local sporting hero or heroes who you feel should be recognised for their dedication or achievements, let Chichester District Council know!

The awards, now in their 14th year, celebrate the success and the hard work of local athletes, coaches, teams and volunteers.

The categories in which to nominate are:

· Team of the Year.

· Volunteer of the Year.

· Coach of the Year.

· Young Person's Commitment to Sport.

· Outstanding Contribution to Sport.

· Outstanding Sports Performance of the Year.

· Youth Sport Achievement.

This final award has been broken down into three categories - bronze for a sportsperson who has represented their district, silver for a sportsperson who has represented their county/region and gold for a sportsperson who has represented their country.

The sports awards nominations close on Friday 25 April.

The awards are organised by Chichester District Council in partnership with the Chichester Observer and Chichester Priory Rotary Club.

The awards ceremony will take place at Westgate Leisure Chichester on Saturday 21 June.

Councillor Eileen Lintill, Chichester District Council's Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and Community Services, says: "This is our opportunity to celebrate the sporting prowess and endeavours of our young people in the community. Please get nominating!"
