Opera to be staged at The Novium

Introduction

An opera is to be staged at The Novium for the first time next month. City Wall Productions Sussex is presenting a modern operatic performance of Dido and Aeneas set during the Second World War.

The performance is a reimagining of the original opera. It will be held at the museum in Tower Street on Friday 30 November at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm.

The original opera, by Henry Purcell, recounts the story of Dido, Queen of Carthage, whose love for the Trojan hero Aeneas turns to despair when he abandons her.

Tickets are £20, which includes a glass of wine and exclusive after-hours access to The Novium for the performance.

Tickets can be purchased in person at The Novium, online at www.citywallproductions.com or by telephone on 0844 8700 887 or 01243 775888.
