New activity club launching for disabled children and their families

A new activity club for disabled children and their families will be launching at Westgate Leisure Chichester next month. The 'branching out club' will run every Sunday from 3pm-5pm at the centre, starting on Sunday 4 November.

"This new club is an amalgamation of the popular Branching Out Saturday Club and the Inclusive Multi-Sport Club. By joining the two clubs together, we will be able to offer disabled children and their families more activities on a more regular basis," says Lee Sargeant, organiser of the club at Westgate Leisure Chichester.

"The sessions offer activities that are suitable for all ages and all levels of ability. It offers families the chance to take part in sports, art and music activities together and hopefully gives them ideas of new things they can try at home."

Activities include:

·       rebound therapy on the trampoline;

·       soft play;

·       a bouncy castle; and,

·       sports based activities.

Each week there will be one special, additional activity that may include:

·       sensory sessions;

·       music workshops;

·       art based activities;

·       fencing;

·       tae kwon-do;

·       go karts; or,

·       water based sessions.
