Fun packed October half term


Children and young people in the Chichester District are set for a fun packed October half term. Events range from a lantern making workshop to football courses, and activities at Westgate Leisure Chicheste

The Novium has organised a number of activities including:

·       Chilling Tales of Chichester - on Sunday 28 October from 5pm-7pm. Spine-chilling stories, hair-raising activities and gruesome games about the horrible historical happenings in Chichester's past! Tickets cost £5 each or family (two adults and two children) £15. Suitable for families with children aged five to 11. Book in advance.

·       Family Crafternoon: Spooky Skeletons & Burials - on Wednesday 31 October from 10am-4pm. Get ready for Halloween with this fun and creative session inspired by the Big Draw's '2012 in Lines'. Free for museum ticket holders.

·       Children's Workshop: Luminous Lanterns - on Thursday 1 November from 1pm-3pm. A chance to create a lantern. Suitable for children five years and up. Tickets cost £7, which includes museum entry or £4.50 for annual ticket holders. Book in advance.

Other activities at The Novium include The Big Draw: 2012 in Lines, from Saturday 27 October to Sunday 4 November, from 10am-4pm. Become a museum curator and draw objects to go on display. Free for museum ticket holders. Or join the museum team and students from Chichester College for The Big Draw Sketch Club, from Monday 29 October to Wednesday 31 October, from 11am-3pm. Tickets are £2 for adults and £1 for children, plus the normal museum admission price.

Westgate Leisure Chichester will be running a daily Burst holiday club, from 8.30am to 5.30pm, during half term for children aged five to 16 who want activities to do for the whole or half day.

There will be a variety of activities available each day with a wide range of equipment for the children to be creative. Activities on offer include:

·       dance;

·       trampolining;

·       ball games and team sports;

·       art and craft;

·       bouncy castle and soft play;

·       film time (during lunch); and

·       Zoolab,

The cost is £20 per child per day or £15 for a half day.

Football and Rugby in the Community holiday courses are open to boys and girls aged six to 15. They include training drills, skills, games and tournaments. They focus on all round player development, individual and unit skills, and most importantly, on having fun!

·       Rugby in the Community at Bracklesham Park, Bracklesham Bay - on Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 October from 10am-3pm. The cost is £5 per person per day.

·       Football in the Community at The Academy, Selsey. - on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 November from 10am-3pm. The cost is £5 per person per day.

All coaches are fully qualified and are CRB checked for child safety. The rugby is delivered by Chichester RFC and the football is delivered by Albion in the Community.
