Digital Television Switchover

Chichester District Council has been notified of the timescales for the digital television switchover for the Meridian TV region, affecting all communities within the District, which will begin in February 2012.

Whilst the switchover has, and will continue, to receive national media attention a large number of homes are not as yet prepared. Digital UK, the responsible body for the switchover, will ensure that viewers know what to do and how to find help or advice if they need it. In addition, The Switchover Help Scheme, run by the BBC, offers direct support to older and other disabled viewers, and will write directly to those eligible in your Parish.

Broadly, all Parishes are affected on either the 29th February or the 7th March 2012. The switchover is a two stage process, with BBC2 analogue being switched off and all remaining analogue stations being switched off a fortnight later.
